This story is a story of growth, a story of the great power of our human nature.
There are many girls around the world in similar situations, who might find it hard to believe that there is a brighter future. There are also many girls around the world who have accomplished what Laura has, and more. Let’s tell their stories and shine a light of hope!
Laura has been receiving IBREA’s program since 2011. Since then, she has strived to make the best of her experience with us and unleash her confidence and inner power to create the life she wants. Here is her latest letter to all the people who are supporting her studies.
I want to share with you my experience in college so far. I am sorry I have not communicated a lot sooner with you, but it has been so busy and challenging.
When I started college, I felt a huge, drastic change. At the same time, I felt it was necessary and such an amazing opportunity. I realized how undergraduate education is so different from what I was used to in middle school and high school. The methodologies of education are very different.
Academically it is very demanding, I felt such a radical change from school. It is very difficult for me to even finish my homework, especially since I don’t have a computer and everything is digital! I try my best to bring everything well done and on time and get good grades — by going to the cybercafé near my house, or waking up early and going to the university to do it in their computers.
Emotionally, I feel so happy because I’m doing studies on “Education”, which will prepare me to help other people to have more motivation and put more interest in their own development and growth. The classes are not easy for me to follow because I wasn’t so well prepared like my classmates, so I realize I have to put a lot of effort and will myself first to reach my goal of helping others later.
With my classmates, I feel very good. We managed to empathize and have a good friendship and study companionship.
So this is my sharing from my experience so far. I will keep sharing with you. For now, I say goodbye and I want to express my gratitude to all the people who are supporting my education and giving me a sword to protect myself and succeed in society in the future.
Thank you so much for helping me.
Have a beautiful day and I send you all my blessings.
