There are so many different adventures and experiences that you can have in a lifetime. You should never hold yourself back from any new opportunity that arises. Always be on the lookout for things that will help you grow.
If there is a will, there is a way. People dream and wonder of what they can do with their lives and how they can make a difference in the world. What do you want? Do you know? Or are you still figuring yourself out?
Things take time. You have to be patient. Trust. Breathe in. Breathe out. Let it go.
This week in the Harlem school we are learning about endurance and perseverance. Everyone has endured something in life, whether in sports or at home. We watched a video in class that had many different celebrities and the hardships they endured to get to where they are today. For the students, Walt Disney’s story seemed to shock them. Walt Disney was told in the beginnings of his career that he had no creative ideas and that he lacked imagination. As we can see, this is not true since he has won over 22 Academy Awards and is the founder of the Walt Disney Company.
Here’s a link to the Courage Video!
For the students, it was kind of unheard of for a successful person to have failed and struggled in life. Now, the students can see that even as they struggle through their studying and their other life events, they, too, can be successful in the future. Working hard to get what you want is a good lesson to teach anyone. Overcoming obstacles helps you grow as a person. You will be able to do more things and ultimately find more meaning out of what you’re doing.
To endure means to go through. Life is full of obstacles, but if you persevere and endure, then you can overcome and do amazing things. If you’ve ever seen the movie Facing the Giants, you know that it’s about a football coach as well as a football team struggling to succeed. The football coach is faced with hardship after hardship and is having a hard time focusing on himself let alone coaching a football team. One of the most powerful scenes in that film is when Brock does the bear crawl across the field. It was hard. It was challenging. He wanted to quit, but he kept going. He had his coach cheering him on. Once he accomplished his goal, he was able to accomplish more and more. He grew through experience and let himself trust in himself more and in others. Through faith and trust in yourself and those around you, you truly can overcome anything!
Here’s the scene from Facing the Giants!
In life, you can do anything and everything that you want to. Never quit until you’ve given it your all. Your 100%. Everything. Also, ask for help and guidance when you need it. You’re not going to know how to do everything right off the bat, if you did then everything would be easy and there would be no challenges. But, you can learn from mistakes and you can find new goals after you’ve completed the ones you’ve been working on.
Reach for the stars. Set no limits. Just do it.
